April 4, 2007 Message from Philip:

Tokyo was awesome!!!  We will be back there later this year for sure.  The concert in Tokyo was recorded live in front of 1,500 people with an 11 camera shoot, and it may be released as a live DVD/CD sometime this year.  I am still working out the details on this.

Maybe it will be the studio version of "Silver Wheel...." and a live DVD/CD all at once!  I am not exactly sure if or when it will be released, but I hope to put something up online soon from the footage.

I will be playing Thursdays this month at the Brass Elephant while I am home.

Philip's March 19, 2007 message:

*****

I just finished recording with Melissa last night.....
Fantastic album!

We leave for Japan on Saturday and play on the 27th
in Tokyo!! It's a live taping for a DVD. Exciting!! We're
playing this week at La Ve Lee on the 20th and The Brass
Elephant on the 22nd as warm-ups for the Tokyo show.

I'll be meeting with a phenomenal producer/mixer
tonight to look at my new cd to have it remixed.
The Japanese version will be different from the
rest of the world's release.....perhaps different
songs and a different mix and artwork. I’m so
proud of the new cd.

As always, thank-you for all of your support!

Love,
Philip

Congratulations, Philip, on your Oscar-winning experience!

Congratulations to Melissa Etheridge for winning the Oscar for her Best
Original Song, “I Need to Wake Up,” and to Philip, Mark Browne,
Fritz Lewak and everyone involved in this Academy Award winner!  If you
didn’t see the Oscars last Sunday, you missed out on seeing Philip
perform “I Need to Wake Up” with Melissa, Mark and Fritz Lewak on the
Oscar stage and Melissa’s exciting win later that night!  It was great
to see you, Philip!!

We wanted to share Philip’s post-Oscar message with everyone:

“This past week has been INCREDIBLE.  The Oscars were amazing. To be
able to play my guitar on such a powerful and important song with the
best rock and roll singer in the world is incredibly inspiring to me,
and is an experience I will cherish always.  I am so revved up!  The
entire event was very GREEN, from the limos to the speeches.

I know that spreading the word of respecting and protecting this Earth
and acting on that knowledge will save this beautiful gift - this
planet and all of the life on it.  It must be our priority.

Love,
Philip
27 February 2007"

Message from Philip:

January 3rd 2007

Happy New Year everybody! The past few months have
been extremely busy and exciting for me, since I returned
home from an incredible tour with Melissa Etheridge.

Here’s what’s new:
I have just finished recording a brand new CD with producer
Dave Cobb.  It was captured in a similar fashion to “Peace
Machine” and I am thrilled with the results.  There are 12
new songs, and I plan to put some of them up on this site
in the very near future.....There is even a special guest
appearance from Melissa!  Kenny Aronoff played drums,
Fred Mandel played keys, and I handled guitars, bass, and
vocals.

This year is going to be phenomenal and I look forward to
meeting you in your city soon.

Thank-you so very much from the bottom of my heart for
your support.

Philip

 September 2006

We’re excited to share with you some of the great reviews of Philip’s performances!

 The Washington Post
August 12, 2006
Tricia Olszewski

“...She [Melissa Etheridge] enthusiastically played all of her hits, backed by a three-piece band that included guitarist Philip Sayce, whose solos were as jaw-dropping as the headliner’s energy.”

You can read the full article here:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/11/AR2006081101639_pf.html

The Montreal Gazette
August 06, 2006
T'cha Dunlevy

“...Backed by drums, bass and particularly impressive guitarist Phillip Sayce, Etheridge brought her folk- and country-tinged roots rock to life. Her voice was strong and she wasn't afraid to use it, wailing away and grinning ear-to-ear all the while.”

http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news/arts/story.html?id=242ebeba-a4fd-4349-aaed-deef449ba7d9

and just one more:

The Oregonian
June 26, 2006
Kyle O’Brien

“...Her [Melissa Etheridge’s] smoking-hot band raised the bar, giving her music vitality and focus.  Bass player Mark Browne was inventive and solid, while drummer Fritz Lewak bashed the energy level up a few notches.  But it was guitarist Philip Sayce who wowed.  The young Canadian’s fiery solos on such tunes as “Refugee” and “Bring Me Some Water” were jaw-dropping, recalling Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen, and his rapport with Etheridge provided infectious energy.”

Thanks for visiting the Fan Club Website.  There are lots of great fan photos posted and other cool stuff from the tour so please check everything out!

This just in! :-)

"Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that Philip will be playing the Grammys this upcoming Sunday, February 13. He will be sharing the stage with Kenny, Mark and, of course, Melissa and it is promised to be an amazing 5 minutes... possibly the best 5 minutes of the entire show (but I may be a little biased!).

Hope you'll tune in,

Kelly"
